Peloton’s treadmill had a flaw that they acknowledged (via a recall) which led to a death of a child. After a patch was installed to address the problem, customers who wanted to use the treadmill without a subscription do not have an option to use the treadmill after the patch without a subscription. Peloton essentially gave people a choice between using potentially dangerous equipment and the health of their children for $40/mo.
